Twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring, New York State HOSA have

On April 23-25 1997 at the HOSA Spring Conference the John Adams team
demonstrate their knowledge on various topics in the Health
Occupations Education. It was no surprise to us that this year's team
would show its talent again by taking the First Place Trophy for HOSA Bowl
for the 5th consecutive year. The John Adams team demonstrate their
expertise in the medical field and brought home Seven First Place
trophy, Six Second Place Trophy, and One Third Place Trophy in the
following competitons: The HOSA Bowl, Medical Assisting Clerical,
Medical Terminology, Medical Spelling, CPR and First Aid, Medical
Laboratory Assisting, Job Seeking Skills, Extemporaneous Speaking,
Dental Terminology and Extemporaneous Writing.
The Team coordinated by Mr. Christopher Bernardo, HOSA Advisor and Med-Tech Instructor, and MR. Gene Tappen, CPR Instructor, consists of 16 members. From these competitors five students qualified to attend this year's National Leadership Conference held in Anaheim, California on June 18-21, 1997.
